General Job Description:
Assists the Manager in the general administration of the Store to which he/she has been assigned. Complies with all procedures related to the operation of the Stores and appropriately handles situations that arise. Is responsible for executing actions aimed at ensuring that the Store's sales and expense budgets are met.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Notify the Manager and Area Supervisor of the total daily sales when the Manager is not available or when the store is due to close.
- Carry out activities or rotate merchandise in the store according to the work plan designed by the Manager.
- Ensure that employees handle customer service, know the available merchandise, and make a good presentation of the merchandise, through the proper use of store space.
- Know and complete all forms, control books and documents related to store management. Submit the required documentation or information for the Manager's review and signature.
- Reconcile the Petty Cash and Cash Registers following the established procedure and frequency. Inform the Manager of any differences, shortfalls or surpluses, whether in the Petty Cash or any Cash Register reconciliation.
- Carry out any managerial tasks that may arise at the cash registers.
- Ensure that sufficient funds are maintained in the Petty Cash Register for the operation of the store.
- Train new employees on the different tasks to be performed.
- Provide service to customers and promote sales.
- Keep the store organized, clean and stocked at all times, including the Warehouse.
- Receive and count all merchandise coming from the general warehouse, ensure that it is correctly marked and place it according to the assigned work plan.
- Perform weekly inventories and orders as assigned by the Manager.
- Notify Manager of local supplier merchandise that needs to be replenished.
- Serve suppliers who directly refill their assigned shelves in the store.
- Inform the Manager of any defects, equipment malfunctions, or any situation related to the store's physical facilities.
- Ensure that all employees comply with assigned schedules.
- Consult with the Manager any situation that requires your attention and keep him informed of any event that may affect the normal operation of the store, including those related to employees.
- Resolve and notify the Manager of any situation that occurs in the store.
- Ensure that price changes notified by Head Office are processed correctly. Instruct employees on price changes that may create confusion or customer complaints. Ensure that all merchandise is properly marked.
- Prepare the store for events or special sales.
- Report any broken or damaged merchandise to the Manager and follow instructions given.
- Follow the company's instructions regarding theft and/or loss of merchandise.
- Participate in the annual physical inventories that the company decides to carry out. This includes organizing the store and warehouse and properly identifying the boxes with the items and the quantities contained.
- Comply with and ensure that employees follow safety rules and report any accidents involving employees or customers, following established protocols and procedures.
- Perform the functions of the Manager in different eventualities.
Requirements:
Fourth year of High School. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a retail store manager. Availability to work alternating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Conditions:
Moderately physically active work that may require moving through and outside the store and standing, sitting, walking, bending, and climbing stairs. Work is generally performed in air conditioning. Work requires occasional lifting of up to thirty (30) pounds. Hand-eye coordination and visual acuity are required.
